It's all gone quiet...

Postby t.rudkin » Thu Mar 04, 2010 6:45 pm

Where is everyone? No one posted in the chat room since 21st. Feb! Perhaps you're all too busy working, or ****ing the MX5's, or enjoying the sunshine top-down style. Fabulous morning - cold but sunny, wife out to her painting group so I've been out for a ride - stopped at Marston Trussell to take a picture of the car outside the church where I was married (no comment in case she reads this) then around the country roads - Sibbertoft, Naseby. Some more pictures near the Naseby Battle site. Absolutely deserted - had it all to myself. Roads were empty but covered in mud and horse poo. Back through Husbands Bosworth, Theddingworth, Lubenham. Had my first real "tail out" moment - pulling away from a junction in Desborough! Turning right - suddenly the revs soared and I was instinctively turning into the skid. Took me by surprise - there's not much power in the 1.8 after all - but it was exciting and, amazingly, it felt perfectly safe (unlike my old Mark 1 Ford Escort did in those circumstances!).

Ah, Trevor - that's exactly the way to enjoy your MX5  Oh the joys of being retired and having a spare morning on a sunny day  We're all preparing our cars and looking forward to the warmer evenings with trips out to places like Ashby Folville. Don't forget the Fish and Chip run on 28th March :D

There's been a few posts, but it has been a bit quiet!

I've got 10k pictures to sort out before this seasons motor racing starts and I'm working on the new Jaguar XJ which is about to launch, so pretty busy.

Now there's a thought. It would tie in well with the classic car meet at The Queen Eleanor PH at Wootton wouldn't it?
Before or after 11.30 ?? The weather forecast is light showers and 10 deg, so getting better !

Ken..................the F1 seasnon which starts this weekend, is The Bahrain Grand Prix, made the same mistake untill I saw the calander early this year. Melbourne is 26-28th March, second race this season.........no idea why.....

Anyway times for the weekend on BBC1...other channels are available, Sat 1010 to 1230, and for the race on Sunday 1110 to 1415....plenty time to cook for all those with Mums or take for a Pub lunch....then Zoom Zoom........... :D :D :D :D :D

Weather looks.....OK as well.............
