How to show pictures in your posts...

Postby Craikeybaby » Wed Nov 22, 2006 1:35 am

I've been saying that I'm going to do this for a long time, so here goes...

To show an image on the forum it needs to be already hosted on another website. Some websites such as the National Owners Club site you need to get the address of the picture. Others, such as photobucket you can copy some code from underneath the picture.

To get the address of the picture right click on the image and select properties.

Then copying the URL:

The address needs to have and open image tage before it , for the picture to show on the forum. The easiest way to get these is to click the Img button once then paste the address then press the img button again.

Those of you that have registered on the national OC website may have already made use of their photo album service. If you have done you can use photos from there, or indeed upload your own there.

Photobucket

One good website to host images is Photobucket, you will need to register, which is much like registering for this forum. When you have registered you can start uploading pictures.

To get picture's from Photobucket into one of your posts all you need to do is copy and paste the contents of the box labeled Img into your post.

For avatar images:

This is not quite the same now. I've just put a picture in as an avatar using User Control Panel, and I just copied the URL address from a photo in the MX5 OC website, pasted it into the box asking for URL address, and as if by magic it worked... No img button etc.
