9th May 2010 - Ludlow Spring Festival

This seems to be an massive inter area gathering, that isn't a Spring Rally - Ace!

Ken knows more details, but the website is: www.thespringevent.co.uk.

More details are shown in our current Diary Dates, however I can advise that P5s, SWM, NWM, C&NW, Moonrakers and S Wales areas are considering attending this event. Northampton Area will be leaving from Sixfields at 08.00 hrs on Sunday 9th May and meeting up with P5s and SWM groups at Hopwood Park Service Area on the M42 just north of Redditch. From there, we have to thread our way through Kidderminster before taking a very scenic country route to Ludlow. If you've never been to Ludlow before, it's a very beautiful old town with a ruined castle and a justifiable reputation for good local food and ales. Well worth the trip and should be a great day out :D

Yes, a great day out :D Whilst numbers were not as large as I hoped (50 cars at Ludlow and just half a dozen from Northampton), the sun was warm, the beer was good and the bangers tasty :D A lovely olde worlde town in a beautiful corner of the country too :D
I didn't take a wrong turning - I just thought we'd drive back along a different road

Dear All, As Steve said I'd be putting the report on instead of him. It's a good job as after his comments he's feeling a little bruised ! I don't think he will be able to type any words for a few days !! I'm saying no more !!

Anyway on to the trip to Ludlow........we had a brilliant 'rain free' journey down and when we'd arrived the sun was shining. The town was just our cup of tea...small winding streets and old buildings (makes Steve feel at home being so old himself !!). The cars (although small in number) were a tribute to their owners. Steve enjoyed trying fudge, fritters, cheeses, sausages, toffee, crayfish, chips, bread, coffee, ice-cream and asparagus - oh nearly forgot....the cider and beer !! All in all, great drive, company, experience - as usual !!

Steve was pleased with the perfomance of Esmerelda with her new exhaust sytem and smiled all day whilst driving !! Looking forward to seeing you all at Overstone soon.

Debs xx

Debs you missed the most important fact.

Six cars left Sixfields en route to Ludlow, in dry conditions, and only two had their tops down - BOTH MK3's  :!: :!: That breaks a few myths I think. I shall not be naming the transgressors - you know who you are
My wife has accused me of not listening to a word she says............or something like that.
